Health score?A 0-100 score computed nightly from four factors: maintained (40%: recent commits and steady activity), popular (25%: GitHub stars, log scale), easy to install (20%: platforms, install notes, setup guides, Docker image) and light to run (15%: minimum RAM, ARM support). When the source code has been checked, a fifth factor, security check (20%: automated scan for committed secrets, unsafe desktop-app settings, known-vulnerable dependencies and project hygiene; any serious finding caps it at 20), is added. Factors without data are left out and the rest are rescaled.

First-install notes
- Set database password and file paths In the Docker Compose file (the recipe that starts the app), set the same real password for POSTGRES_PASSWORD and DB_PASSWORD, and change the volume paths (the folders where data is stored) to folders on your own computer. If the passwords do not match or the paths point to the wrong place, PinePods may not start or can lose where it keeps its data. source
- Use port 8040 to reach PinePods After running sudo docker compose up -d (start everything in the background), open http://localhost:8040 in your browser, or use your server address if it is on another machine. Port 8040 is where the PinePods web interface listens, so blocking it or using the wrong number keeps you from reaching the app. source
- Optional: start the AI helper If you want AI features, run the pinepods-ai Docker container (a small self-contained app) on port 8100 and point its downloads folder to where PinePods keeps downloaded media. Keep the models folder safe, because deleting it can force the AI to re-download model files. source
