Dockpeek is a lightweight, self-hosted Docker port dashboard. It lists running containers and exposed ports, provides one-click web addresses for containerized web apps, and supports local or remote Docker hosts through a socket proxy. It is for homelab users who want a simple overview of container access points, with optional image update checking.

Platform availability

Health score?A 0-100 score computed nightly from four factors: maintained (40%: recent commits and steady activity), popular (25%: GitHub stars, log scale), easy to install (20%: platforms, install notes, setup guides, Docker image) and light to run (15%: minimum RAM, ARM support). When the source code has been checked, a fifth factor, security check (20%: automated scan for committed secrets, unsafe desktop-app settings, known-vulnerable dependencies and project hygiene; any serious finding caps it at 20), is added. Factors without data are left out and the rest are rescaled.

First-install notes

  • Set secret key and login first Fill in SECRET_KEY (a long random string) and your USERNAME/PASSWORD before starting, and don't leave it as admin/admin. Without a secure key and real login, anyone with access could use your dashboard or mess with your session. source
  • Let Dockpeek see Docker Add the Docker socket volume /var/run/docker.sock:/var/run/docker.sock so Dockpeek can read and control your containers; this gives it real Docker control, so keep it on a trusted machine. Without it, it won't see your running apps. source
  • Open port 3420 for the dashboard Map or allow host port 3420, which is the browser address you'll use to open Dockpeek. If a firewall or router blocks it, you won't be able to load the dashboard from another device. source

Common questions

How should I secure Dockpeek before first use?

Set SECRET_KEY to a long random string and provide your USERNAME and PASSWORD before starting it. Do not leave the default admin/admin credentials.

How does Dockpeek access my Docker containers?

Mount the Docker socket as /var/run/docker.sock:/var/run/docker.sock. This gives it real Docker control, so run it only on a trusted machine.

Which host port should I open for the dashboard?

Map or allow host port 3420. If a firewall or router blocks that port, the dashboard may not load from another device.

Does Dockpeek integrate with Traefik automatically?

It automatically detects Traefik labels and works out of the box with zero configuration.

Can Dockpeek be used to update container images?

Yes, it can monitor ports and update images from its interface.
