First-install notes

  • Install app and set it to start automatically Download the latest release, copy it to /opt/nzbhydra2, and enable the provided systemd service (a Linux background-job manager) to start nzbhydra2. This keeps the app running and starting automatically after reboots or power cycles. source
  • Keep the installed app folder safe The installed app lives in /opt/nzbhydra2, so back up that folder before reinstalling or moving to a new machine. Losing it means losing the copied program files and any local changes you made there. source
  • SOCKS5 proxy ports are optional If you use the included SOCKS5 helper, it can use port 1080 for plain connections or port 1081 for SSL connections. You only need to open or worry about those ports if you intentionally use that proxy with other apps. source
