Health score?A 0-100 score computed nightly from four factors: maintained (40%: recent commits and steady activity), popular (25%: GitHub stars, log scale), easy to install (20%: platforms, install notes, setup guides, Docker image) and light to run (15%: minimum RAM, ARM support). When the source code has been checked, a fifth factor, security check (20%: automated scan for committed secrets, unsafe desktop-app settings, known-vulnerable dependencies and project hygiene; any serious finding caps it at 20), is added. Factors without data are left out and the rest are rescaled.

First-install notes
- Tell it which folder to share Start the app with the -r flag pointing at the folder you want to browse, for example filebrowser -r /path/to/your/files. If you forget this, File Browser won't know which folder is your top-level 'root' and you may see an empty or wrong set of files. source
- Set port, address, and root in config Use the sample configuration file as a template and check port, address, and root before you start. The port is the web address port (often 8080), address is which devices can reach it, and root is the shared folder; leaving address as 127.0.0.1 means only that machine can log in. source
- Keep the settings database safe The app saves users, permissions, and settings in a database file such as filebrowser.db. If that file is deleted, moved, or not backed up, you can lose your accounts and custom settings and have to set them up again. source
