Flowise
Open source low-code tool for developers to build customized LLM orchestration flow and AI agents.
Platform availability
Available on 4 of 9 platforms
Health score?A 0-100 score computed nightly from four factors: maintained (40%: recent commits and steady activity), popular (25%: GitHub stars, log scale), easy to install (20%: platforms, install notes, setup guides, Docker image) and light to run (15%: minimum RAM, ARM support). When the source code has been checked, a fifth factor, security check (20%: automated scan for committed secrets, unsafe desktop-app settings, known-vulnerable dependencies and project hygiene; any serious finding caps it at 20), is added. Factors without data are left out and the rest are rescaled.

First-install notes
- Start Flowise with npx Run `npx flowise start` (npx is a Node.js tool that runs the Flowise program) to launch Flowise. Without this command, the app never starts and you cannot open its browser UI. source
- Start Docker for container installs If you are using Docker (a program that runs apps in containers), run `sudo systemctl enable docker.service` and then `sudo systemctl start docker.service`, where sudo means run with admin rights. This makes Docker run now and start after reboot, so the Flowise container can launch. source
- Add basic login at startup For a quick first setup, start Flowise with `npx flowise start --FLOWISE_USERNAME=user --FLOWISE_PASSWORD=1234` so it starts with that username and password. Without it, you may start Flowise without that simple login protection. source

Common questions
Why might the Flowise browser UI not open after installation?
Run npx flowise start to launch Flowise. Without that command, the app never starts and the browser UI cannot be opened.
How can I add basic login protection when starting Flowise?
Start Flowise with the FLOWISE_USERNAME and FLOWISE_PASSWORD flags in the npx flowise start command. Without those flags, it may start without simple login protection.
How do I make Docker start automatically for a containerized Flowise install?
Enable Docker with sudo systemctl enable docker.service and start it with sudo systemctl start docker.service. This makes Docker run now and start after reboot so the Flowise container can launch.
What should I verify before exposing self-hosted Flowise publicly?
Use correct ports, persistent storage, HTTPS, secrets, backups, and upgrade checks. Also be prepared to fix the instance when the encryption secret changes.
Can Flowise be deployed in an air-gapped environment?
Flowise lists self-hosted options that include air-gapped deploy.
