Health score?A 0-100 score computed nightly from four factors: maintained (40%: recent commits and steady activity), popular (25%: GitHub stars, log scale), easy to install (20%: platforms, install notes, setup guides, Docker image) and light to run (15%: minimum RAM, ARM support). When the source code has been checked, a fifth factor, security check (20%: automated scan for committed secrets, unsafe desktop-app settings, known-vulnerable dependencies and project hygiene; any serious finding caps it at 20), is added. Factors without data are left out and the rest are rescaled.

First-install notes

  • Set the interface and web address In the main config file (config_v2.yaml), set ifaces to the network card you want watched and set host to 0.0.0.0 if you want other devices to reach the dashboard. If this is wrong, the app may scan the wrong network or you may not be able to open the web page. source
  • Open port 8840 for the dashboard The example config uses port 8840 for the web interface, so allow that port through your firewall or router if you need to access the dashboard from another device. If it is blocked, the app can run but you will not be able to reach the page. source
  • Use ARP_STRS_JOINED for missing devices If devices on a VLAN or Docker bridge do not show up, set ARP_STRS_JOINED to the extra arp-scan (address-resolution scan) arguments for that segment, such as -gNx 172.17.0.1/24 -I docker0. This tells the scanner where to look, so those devices do not stay invisible. source
