Health score?A 0-100 score computed nightly from four factors: maintained (40%: recent commits and steady activity), popular (25%: GitHub stars, log scale), easy to install (20%: platforms, install notes, setup guides, Docker image) and light to run (15%: minimum RAM, ARM support). When the source code has been checked, a fifth factor, security check (20%: automated scan for committed secrets, unsafe desktop-app settings, known-vulnerable dependencies and project hygiene; any serious finding caps it at 20), is added. Factors without data are left out and the rest are rescaled.

Resources & Compatibility

Requirements not published yet.

First-install notes

  • Install the right package On Linux install the matching .deb, .rpm, or .pkg.tar.zst package, or on macOS run brew install --cask openlogi. This puts the OpenLogi files on your system so the openlogi and openlogi-desktop commands actually exist. source
  • Enable the Linux agent service On Linux run systemctl --user enable --now openlogi-agent.service. This starts the background helper for your user account that talks to your Logitech device, so the desktop app can use it. source
  • Set Linux device permissions On Linux, copy the bundled 70-openlogi.rules file to /etc/udev/rules.d, then run sudo udevadm control --reload-rules and sudo udevadm trigger. udev rules give OpenLogi permission to access your Logitech hardware, so skipping this can cause permission errors or the device not being detected. source

Common questions

Why does OpenLogi not detect my Logitech device on Linux?

Copy the bundled 70-openlogi.rules file to /etc/udev/rules.d, then reload and trigger the udev rules. Skipping this can cause permission errors or the device not being detected.

Do I need Logi Options+ or a Logitech account to use OpenLogi?

No. OpenLogi talks to Logitech HID++ peripherals directly over receiver, Bluetooth, or USB, and does not require the official Options+ install or an account.

Where are OpenLogi settings stored for backup or syncing?

Bindings and device settings are written to config.toml at ~/.config/openlogi/config.toml. That file is the settings file to back up or sync.

Does OpenLogi keep a webcam held open after I close the preview?

No. The live preview opens the camera only while you are watching, and leaving the preview releases the camera entirely with the LED off.
