Health score?A 0-100 score computed nightly from four factors: maintained (40%: recent commits and steady activity), popular (25%: GitHub stars, log scale), easy to install (20%: platforms, install notes, setup guides, Docker image) and light to run (15%: minimum RAM, ARM support). When the source code has been checked, a fifth factor, security check (20%: automated scan for committed secrets, unsafe desktop-app settings, known-vulnerable dependencies and project hygiene; any serious finding caps it at 20), is added. Factors without data are left out and the rest are rescaled.

First-install notes

  • Set up PostgreSQL first Install PostgreSQL/PostGIS, initialize it on first run, set UTC timezone, then start and enable it. GeoPulse depends on this database, so if it's missing or not running the backend won't start correctly. source
  • Check the health endpoint Start the GeoPulse backend and then test http://localhost:8080/api/health. If you can't reach this page, the backend isn't ready, and other setup steps will keep failing until you fix it. source
  • Fill in SSO/OIDC settings if used If you want sign-in through Google or another SSO, turn on GEOPULSE_OIDC_ENABLED and provide each provider's client ID, client secret, and discovery URL in .env. Without these exact settings, the SSO button won't work and users can't log in that way. source
  • Quick installation Create a GeoPulse directory and download .env.example and docker-compose.yml before starting services. source
