Health score?A 0-100 score computed nightly from four factors: maintained (40%: recent commits and steady activity), popular (25%: GitHub stars, log scale), easy to install (20%: platforms, install notes, setup guides, Docker image) and light to run (15%: minimum RAM, ARM support). When the source code has been checked, a fifth factor, security check (20%: automated scan for committed secrets, unsafe desktop-app settings, known-vulnerable dependencies and project hygiene; any serious finding caps it at 20), is added. Factors without data are left out and the rest are rescaled.

First-install notes
- Set PUID/PGID and map your folders Use id your_user to find your PUID/PGID (the user and group IDs the container runs as), and map /config, /data/movies, and /data/tvshows to real folders on your machine. Without this, Jellyfin may not be allowed to read your media, and settings can be stored inside the container and lost when it is updated. source
- Expose port 8096 for the web app Map port 8096 to your machine so your browser can open Jellyfin. If clients should find the server automatically on your network, also expose UDP ports 7359 and 1900; without 8096 you cannot open the web UI. source
- Add your GPU device for transcoding If you want hardware transcoding, mount the GPU device when starting the container, for example --device=/dev/dri:/dev/dri or the Nvidia equivalent. Without the GPU device, Jellyfin cannot use hardware acceleration and video conversion may be slow or fail. source

Common questions
Can the hosted Jellyfin Vue client connect to a Jellyfin server that uses plain HTTP?
No, the hosted instance only works with servers behind a reverse proxy and configured with HTTPS. If your server uses HTTP, you need to host the client yourself.
Which container image should I use to self-host Jellyfin Vue?
Use one of the tagged images from GitHub Packages (GHCR) or DockerHub. GHCR is recommended.
If a third party hosts the frontend, is it in the middle of my connection to the Jellyfin server?
After the frontend assets load, the connection is only between your device and the Jellyfin server. The frontend host is not in the middle, assuming the hosted version has not been altered.
