First-install notes

  • Run the first-time setup script For a MySQL-based Seafile Pro install, run ./setup-seafile-mysql.sh in the server folder and follow the prompts. This one-time setup creates the config and database tables; skip it and the app has no settings or storage to work with. source
  • Check first-start logs On first start, look for messages saying the Seafile server, Seahub (the web UI), and database tables finished successfully. Those lines tell you the one-time initialization worked; if they are missing, the web app likely will not load yet. source
  • Install and enable Nginx If you want the Seafile web UI to be reachable and to come back after a reboot, install Nginx and enable it to start on boot. Without Nginx running, browsers cannot connect to the front-end even if Seafile is installed. source
  • Create a custom Docker network and database Create a user-defined Docker network named seafile-net, set the template network type to seafile-net, and attach MariaDB and Memcached, if used, to it. Enable Preserve user defined networks in Unraid Docker settings. source
