Health score?A 0-100 score computed nightly from four factors: maintained (40%: recent commits and steady activity), popular (25%: GitHub stars, log scale), easy to install (20%: platforms, install notes, setup guides, Docker image) and light to run (15%: minimum RAM, ARM support). When the source code has been checked, a fifth factor, security check (20%: automated scan for committed secrets, unsafe desktop-app settings, known-vulnerable dependencies and project hygiene; any serious finding caps it at 20), is added. Factors without data are left out and the rest are rescaled.

First-install notes
- Start it with Docker Compose Run the Docker Compose quickstart commands in a new folder so it starts ArchiveBox and creates a data folder; keep that folder safe, because deleting it wipes your saved pages and settings. source
- Open the admin page once After the server starts, open http://admin.archivebox.localhost:5797/admin/ in your browser and finish the one-time setup; without that step the app won’t be ready to manage your archive normally. source
- Port 5797 is the web UI The Docker setup listens on port 5797 at 127.0.0.1, which means only your own computer can open the web UI; that’s safe by default, but you can’t reach it from other devices unless you change the network setting. source

Common questions
What Docker folder should I back up for ArchiveBox?
Keep the data folder created by the Docker Compose quickstart in a safe place. Deleting that folder wipes your saved pages and settings.
What must I do once after the ArchiveBox server starts?
Open the admin page in your browser and finish the one-time setup. If you skip that step, the app is not ready to manage your archive normally.
Why can’t other devices reach the ArchiveBox web UI?
The Docker setup listens on port 5797 at 127.0.0.1, so only your own computer can open the web UI. You need to change the network setting to reach it from other devices.
Can I use ArchiveBox without the Docker web interface?
Yes, you can continue accessing the same collection with the CLI, Python API, and SQLite3 APIs. These usage methods provide matching features such as adding tags, scheduling regular crawls, and viewing logs.
