First-install notes

  • Run first-time install and refresh cache For the shared-hosting package, run php bin/console wallabag:install --env=prod to finish setup and create your initial user. If settings change or you get strange errors, run php bin/console cache:clear --env=prod so wallabag stops using old cached instructions. source
  • Download the shared-hosting package For shared hosting, download the ready-made wallabag archive and extract it before starting the app. Without the extracted files, there is no wallabag app to configure or visit, and the package already includes the needed dependencies. source
  • Pull the official Docker image If you plan to run wallabag in Docker (a way to run apps in isolated containers), pull the official wallabag/wallabag image first. Docker needs this image to create the container, so missing it means the app cannot start. source
