Health score?A 0-100 score computed nightly from four factors: maintained (40%: recent commits and steady activity), popular (25%: GitHub stars, log scale), easy to install (20%: platforms, install notes, setup guides, Docker image) and light to run (15%: minimum RAM, ARM support). When the source code has been checked, a fifth factor, security check (20%: automated scan for committed secrets, unsafe desktop-app settings, known-vulnerable dependencies and project hygiene; any serious finding caps it at 20), is added. Factors without data are left out and the rest are rescaled.

First-install notes

  • Install the sample packages first In the sample folder, run npm install or yarn install to fetch the Node.js (JavaScript runtime) packages the app needs. Without this, the sample may fail to start with missing package or module errors. source
  • Add the Cloud Tasks library for your language Install the matching Cloud Tasks client library, such as npm install @google-cloud/tasks for Node.js or pip install --upgrade google-cloud-tasks for Python. It gives your program the tools to create queues and send tasks, so it will not work without it. source
  • Create a queue and keep its name Create a Cloud Tasks queue and write down the full queue name, including project, location, and queue. Tasks must be sent to a valid queue, so a missing or wrong name can cause task creation or delivery to fail. source
