Health score?A 0-100 score computed nightly from four factors: maintained (40%: recent commits and steady activity), popular (25%: GitHub stars, log scale), easy to install (20%: platforms, install notes, setup guides, Docker image) and light to run (15%: minimum RAM, ARM support). When the source code has been checked, a fifth factor, security check (20%: automated scan for committed secrets, unsafe desktop-app settings, known-vulnerable dependencies and project hygiene; any serious finding caps it at 20), is added. Factors without data are left out and the rest are rescaled.

First-install notes
- Set accounts and keep ports free Before running the setup script, fill in the env (environment variable) files pgadmin-env.list with your pgAdmin login and pg-env.list with the database login, and make sure network ports 5050 and 5432 are free. The first file is the first-run pgAdmin account, the second is the database account, and the ports are the address you use to reach pgAdmin and PostgreSQL. source
- Add your database server in pgAdmin After opening http://localhost:5050 and logging in, add a server with hostname postgres and the database username and password from pg-env.list. Without this step, pgAdmin can open but will not have your database to show. source
- Keep volumes and env files safe Keep the Docker volumes (storage spaces for the containers) pgvolume and pga4volume, plus the two env files, safe because they hold your database data, pgAdmin settings, and passwords. If you delete or lose them, you can lose your database or be unable to recover the saved accounts. source
- Unraid: set Config ownership before first start The Config volume mapped to /config must be owned by the container's non-root pgadmin user (UID/GID 5050). Create the mapped Config folder before first start, then in the Unraid terminal run chown -R 5050:5050 /mnt/user/appdata/pgadmin4, and restart the container to continue setup. source

Common questions
How do I set the first pgAdmin account when running the container?
Set the PGADMIN_DEFAULT_EMAIL and PGADMIN_DEFAULT_PASSWORD environment variables when starting the container.
Which ports should be kept free for the pgAdmin and PostgreSQL Docker setup?
Keep port 5050 free for pgAdmin and port 5432 free for PostgreSQL. These are the ports used to reach pgAdmin at localhost:5050 and the database server.
How do I connect pgAdmin to a PostgreSQL server after logging in?
Open pgAdmin at localhost:5050, log in, and add a server with the database hostname, username, and password. The example uses hostname postgres and the credentials from the database env file.
Where should I report bugs or ask for pgAdmin support?
End-user questions go to the pgadmin-support mailing list, while bugs should be reported on the issue tracker. Security issues have a private address listed for them.
How are pgAdmin releases supported?
pgAdmin follows a rolling release policy and only supports the latest release. Fixes and new features are released in the next version rather than backported to older versions.
