First-install notes

  • Set the web address before starting OCIS If you are running OCIS, the newer ownCloud server, start it with PROXY_HTTP_ADDR=0.0.0.0:5555 so the web UI is reachable on port 5555 from other devices. Without this, your laptop or phone may not be able to open the site because the server is not listening on the address you expect. source
  • Add two-factor login when ready After ownCloud is running, install the twofactor_totp marketplace app using the documented command. This adds a one-time code from your phone or app at login, which helps protect your account if someone learns your password. source
  • Set SSO login details before use If you plan to use SSO (single sign-on, an external login system), fill in the OpenID Connect provider URL, client ID, and client secret, and make sure the users already exist in ownCloud. The client ID and secret are the credentials the login provider gives you; if they are wrong, login will not work. source
  • Storage and database The image includes MariaDB; map /config and /data to persistent storage. source
  • Unraid network Set the container network to br0 and assign a static IP address. source
