Health score?A 0-100 score computed nightly from four factors: maintained (40%: recent commits and steady activity), popular (25%: GitHub stars, log scale), easy to install (20%: platforms, install notes, setup guides, Docker image) and light to run (15%: minimum RAM, ARM support). When the source code has been checked, a fifth factor, security check (20%: automated scan for committed secrets, unsafe desktop-app settings, known-vulnerable dependencies and project hygiene; any serious finding caps it at 20), is added. Factors without data are left out and the rest are rescaled.

First-install notes

  • Edit the Docker compose file first Download the example Docker Compose file (the recipe for starting the app's containers), then set the database passwords and APP_URL (the public web address) before running docker compose up -d; without a correct APP_URL, links may point to the wrong place, and weak passwords make the app easier to break into. After it starts, open APP_URL to run the setup screen, or uncomment ADMIN_EMAIL and ADMI source
  • Set .env before a manual install If you are not using Docker, copy .env.example to .env and replace APP_URL, the database address, username, and password with real values; APP_URL is used in email links, so a wrong address can send users to broken links. Keep APP_DEBUG=false in production so settings are not leaked, and save the generated APP_KEY with your backups because encrypted data cannot be recovered without it. source
  • Start the virus scanner if needed The ClamAV virus scanner is off by default; start it with docker compose --profile scanner up -d only if you want uploaded files checked for malware. Then set the scanner address in System - Settings - Virus scanning, or uncomment PROJECTSEND_SCANNER_DEFAULT_ADDRESS in the compose file, otherwise uploads will not be scanned. source
